Urban distribution and mobility

Description

An efficient transport and distribution system plays a major role in the competitiveness of an urban area and is also a crucial element of the urban economy, both in terms of the income it produces and the employment levels it generates and maintains. Even so, urban freight traffic has a major impact on mobility within cities, causing important social and environmental effects. This line of research includes the design and development of more efficient transport systems, including control devices, techniques to optimise the existing network and information systems, and also the design of methodologies to optimise urban freight distribution from a systemic point of view.
