Supply Chain design in industry

Description

This line of research pursues the design and management of the supply chain at all stages in order to optimise a given efficiency measure. Specifically, the following lines of action are foreseen:

  1. Short-term scheduling of the production of a productive system, goods or services, depending on its configuration and the criteria for choosing one solution or another.

  2. Design and simulation of supply chain behaviour and/or optimisation, analysing flows.

  3. Organisation of production considering the flexibility to stop industrial processes depending on the price of electricity, including an opportunity cost factor for energy not consumed.

This line of research is concerned with providing the necessary quantitative tools (algorithms, procedures) to find optimal results, if possible, to problems arising from these decisions.
