Gema Calleja Sanz

Gema Calleja Sanz holds a PhD in Industrial Organization Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Organization at the UPC. Previously she worked as a lecturer at the EAE Business School and as an engineer in industry, in companies such as Sacyr, Gestamp, ABB and Construsoft. She currently teaches in the area of entrepreneurship and technological innovation at the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyeria Industrial de Barcelona (ETSEIB) and at the Escola d'Enginyeria de Barcelona Est (EEBE). Since 2010 she has carried out her research activity at the Institute of Organization and Control of Industrial Systems (IOC-UPC), where she is currently part of the research group Design and Optimization of Processes and Services (DOPS). She has participated in several research projects and has published in international journals such as Computers & Operations Research, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Research, Renewable Energy, PloS One, and Journal of Higher Education Policy and Management, among others. Her research focuses on the area of quantitative techniques for industrial problem solving, strategic management of technology and innovation in higher education.
