Project description

Together with the previous project (2018-U011), an online computer tool is developed to help rural electrification promoters in developing countries during project design. The guide tool in the entire decision-making process, from the selection of a community to be electrified until the solution to be implemented is defined in detail, combining different technologies for electricity generation and distribution. It is an interactive process, where the user can test many electrification options, within a structured process in three levels of decision: (1) the analysis of the energy uses covered, (2) the definition of the electricity grid to facilitate system management, and (3) the study of generation equipment to improve security of supply.
